Cricut Country Thank You - Bitten By the Bug 2 Challenge

Hello everyone. Today I’m posting for Bitten by the Bug 2. This is a twice a month Cricut challenge blog that encourages Cricut users to grow their creativity. I recently joined their DT and am super glad to be part of the group of talented cricut crafters.

The new challenge theme kicking off today is a Thank You Card challenge. If you’d like to join this challenge, you can link up your thank you card creation to the challenge post. You can also follow what’s going on from their new facebook page. Links are both both are here:

My card features a image from the Cricut cartridge, Country Life. The design is #M404AE and I made it at 3.1" wide by 5.085" high. Yep. Weird measurement but that's what fit on this A2 card the best. Here are most of the pieces of this image before I put it together.

The background woodgrain stamp is from Hero Arts and it's called Designer Woodgrain. I stamped it with Momento Rich Cocoa ink.

After I constructed the die cut, I put it on foam tape and then added the jems, bow and the Thanks Sentiment. By the way, the sentiment is from a Close To My Heart stamp set called Hello Life, #CC1041. The banner image can be cut from the Artistry cartridge if you happen to have it. I don't own the cartridge but had picked up this stamp set a while back. I simply cut the stamped thanks banner out with my scissors.

I have a video tutorial that shows all the steps I took to make this card. Please visit and help me out by subscribing at my YouTube channel.

Thanks so much for visiting me today. I'll see you again soon but have a great week!

Hugs,
Janet

Shutter Flap Valentine - Including FREE Cricut Design Space Cutting File!

Hello Everyone! It's been a long time since I posted at this blog. I'm back at it and today I want to tell you about a cool 3D Interactive card that I stumbled across while scanning through videos on YouTube. Ann who runs Creatively Papercraft on YouTube showed how to make this really fun Shutter flap card. It was a fair amount of manual work so I decided to convert it to a Design Space File. The links to the files can be found at the bottom of my post.

I have joined the Bitten by the Bug 2 blog challenge team. You'll see posts from me every two weeks following the challenge. The theme kicking off today is Valentine Hearts. Please check them out and join in the challenge! Click here to visit the blog: Bitten By the Bug 2 Blog To play along, you just need to link up a project that meets the theme and is made with a Cricut machine.

Here is what the card looks like from above. You can see how nicely it stands and how dimensional it is.

Here's the card in action!

I've got two versions of Design Space files for you. One can be used without a Cricut Access subscription. The other requires a Cricut Access subscription. The difference between the two is that the Access required file includes more complex embellishments since I could pull from the subscription image database.

To see all the pieces and a construction tutorial, click on the video to be taken to my channel. For those that can't use that feature, here is a clickable link:  Shutter Flap Valentine Tutorial
