Blog Hop & Giveaway | Lab Puppy | Last Post

Hello! I'm sharing with you my last project for the JessicaLynnOriginal Love Your Pets Blog hop. #LoveyourpetsHop2018   I've had so much fun in this hop and I hate to see it end! I was not all that familiar with this company until I got the pleasure of using the stamps. I mention in my video featuring the Corgi that I am so impressed with the quality of these stamps. They are very well made, heavy and remind of rubber stamp thickness almost but they are clear photopolymer. I didn't have to season these stamps. They literally stamped perfectly beginning with the first impression. I can't say that of almost all other brands of clear stamps, even the most expensive and well known.

Today's card features the Lab puppy and a sentiment that is part of the adorable Flynne's Puppies stamp set. Here is a photo of the entire stamp set. Too cute right?

WIN A STAMP SET OF YOUR OWN! All you need to do is go to my YouTube channel, watch the post that features the cute little Corgi dog, subscribe and comment! Everyone who does this will be entered in a random drawing to get a brand new stamp set from me. That link is HERE or you can click on the photo of the project in the video thumbnail below. This closes tomorrow and I'll announce the winner on Monday the 30th. Good luck to everyone!

So back to this cute little Lab stamp, I started by cutting a card front using the KAISERCRAFT Stained Glass Card creations die. This cuts out the window and a piece that is 4.5" x 6." I really liked the primary colored designer cardstock I chose but I liked it even better when I used some Bobunny glitter paste in Sugar to apply the pattern in this die to the cardstock. I used a putty knife to apply a thin layer and then pulled it off and set the card front aside to dry. The paste dries clear leaving the glitter in the pattern it is applied on. It adds a fun layer of shimmer and shine without competing with the cardstock pattern.

Next, I stamped and colored the lab puppy with Spectrum Noir markers on heavy duty white card stock. Once complete, I fussy cut him so he could be used on the card front.

I made the sentiment using one included in the stamp set. I cut a green flag and heat embossed with white, "Life is Better with a Dog!" I couldn't agree with that more.

I wanted a few more doo-dads for this card so I pulled out my nested heart set from CottageCutz and cut three hearts out of shiny red paper in three sizes. I accented them with white gelly roll pen. I also pulled out a round wood veneer heart tag from my stash and added a plaid ribbon and green and white twine to complete the tag.

By this time, my card panel was dry so I applied all the pieces I had prepared. I inserted a scrap piece of Fresh Market wood grain cardstock that was leftover from previous projects and raised the main panel with foam tape. I put foam tape behind the dog parts that would hang in the the window so he'd be level with card front and applied wet glue to the part that rested on the card front.

Here's a little closer look at the card front details. Isn't this little pup just super cute?!

I'm entering this card in the following challenges:

Love Ya Mom!

Hello everyone and welcome! I'm here today with a delicate botanical mother's day card. I like the mix of hard black and white with all the soft pastels that frame the Mom tag sentiment. Perhaps I should have chosen a slightly more muted yellow ribbon but in person it isn't as bright as the photo shows here.

My flowers and greenery are all from the new Botanical Garden 1 die that is part of the CottageCutz Llamas and Botanicals release.

Rather than color the flowers with markers, I used white panels that I first covered in blended distressed oxide inks, splattered with water to create additional texture, and then sprayed with gold glimmer spray. These panels of color created a really special array of flowers for the card. I raised the card front with the wide black frame up on foam tape to create a window which was a perfect base to arrange all the individual flower die cuts. I used the versatile Mail Tag die to use as the sentiment to tell Mom just how much she's loved.

The video shows how I created the panels, how the individual flowers go together and how I created the card front with the framed and raised front panel. You can watch the video by clicking HERE or clicking on the thumbnail below.

Thanks for stopping by. I have you are having a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Janet

Blog Hop Project & Giveaway!

Hello! I'm sharing with you my second project for the JessicaLynnOriginal Love Your Pets Blog hop. This card features the Pug puppy and sentiment that is part of the adorable Flynne's Puppies stamp set.

That link is HERE or you can click on the thumbnail below.

To construct this pug puppy card, I first created a white A2 sized card base. To create the background, I used several strips of dog and camera related rolls of washi tape. This was a fun and simple way to create a cool background.

The next step was to cut out an oval shape and stamp the pug on it with Momento ink. I colored him up using my Spectrum Noir markers. You can see that the stamp would be perfectly cute all by itself and wouldn't even need any coloring because it's so detailed and full of life.

I placed the stamped and colored pug on the front of the card. The last step was to cut a black sentiment flag, stamp and then heat emboss the included sentiment, "Yappy Birthday!" in white. It's kind of corny but I like the sentiment. Any dog lover will too!

Happy Llama Trails To You!

Good morning! I hope the week has been treating you well so far. Today I'm sharing a couple projects  made with three dies from the new Llamas and Botanicals collection from CottageCutz. This release contains thirteen new dies full of llamas, cacti and beautiful traditional birds and fauna. If you haven't noticed, Llamas, cacti and desert images are very popular right now and of course The Scrapping Cottage has lived up to the challenge with some adorable images in that theme in this release. Please check all the new dies out at the store. They are 25% off for a limited time so head on over to make your selections if you love llamas and the desert trends!

There are many beautiful traditional bird and fauna dies too in this collection so there's sure to be something you like. In fact, here is a card I made for the CottageCutz blog that features the traditional Dogwood branch. I used watercolor and shaped the flowers and leaves. I cut a window in the front of the A2 sized card and placed the die cut on the plain white card stock inside. I like the dramatic difference in colors. It sorta makes my heart skip a beat the same way it does when I notice the first flowers of the season bloom in all their glory!

So getting back to the llama, I chose to feature the Traveling Llama die with all his luggage and cute jaunty hat at the top of his load. I can't say I understand the llama trend completely but I can tell you I've fallen in love with this little character. He is so cute and detailed with all his colorful bags, saddle and harnesses. I want to reach out and give him a hug!

To give the llama more dimension I put a layer of foam tape under his saddle and the three bags. The middle blue case is on two layers of foam tape which gives the impression that it provides a platform for the final bag. To give him motion, I used an action wobble so that he trots as he goes on his merry way. He's a traveling llama after all!

To enhance the desert look, I used the Potted Cactus die cuts on both the front and inside of the card for extra fun. The cactus images are also very cute and easy to put together. I chose not to use the pots for them since the idea was that the llama was traveling and that means cactus in the ground, not in pots.

Please visit the CottageCutz YouTube channel to see this little llama in action! I show the coloring and how to piece these dies together which is helpful if you're not sure where all the pieces go. You can either click on THIS LINK or click on the video thumbnail below.

Thanks and Happy Trails To You!

I have been asked to join their Design Team so I will be showing you more Creative Escape Papercrafting kits very soon. I will be presenting tutorials for making 10 cards starting this month. To practice making 10 cards from 1 kit, I decided I had better buy one and try making 10 cards to make sure I could do it!. I am happy to report that I had a ball with it and I'm looking forward to getting my first official design team kit in a few weeks! This kit was packed with the Carta Bella Spring Market Paper Collection as well as a Sizzix Framelits set and lots of other goodies. You can see the unboxing video of the kit HERE:

Even if you don't have this kit, no problem. You can do similar styles with supplies in your stash. My hope is that I'll give you lots of creative ideas!

I've included 4 of the 5 card photos in this post. I have to admit that I've given my favorite one away as a thank you to someone already! You can see the missing card in the short video. I'll be back later this week with 5 more cards and a bonus item so watch for that.

Click on THIS LINK to go there directly or click on the thumbnail below:

I want to also let you know that I am trying to build up my Instagram audience. So to encourage participation, I am doing a giveaway there. Click on THIS LINK and it'll take you to my page. Follow me and comment on the photo that has GIVEAWAY on it. Just tell me what you like best about spring by Midnight on April 27th and I'll include you in a $20 gift card giveaway to the CottageCutz store. If more than 50 do so I'll give a 2nd prize away too.
