Daisy Cascade Card - Cameo 4 and CutCardstock

Have you ever experienced someone being super impressed at something you made but secretly you knew it wasn't all that hard? Today's card is that kind of project.

How about a pretty cascade card with beautiful creamy white cardstock and all the trimmings? It screams elaborate but the beauty is that this card isn't hard thanks to a cutting pattern from Dreaming Tree called Daisy Cascade Card. Yes, this is an .svg cutting file that makes this card quick to make.

This is called a Cascade Card and it's made with two spectacular cardstocks from CutCardStock - Curious Metallic Cryogen White and Curious Metallic Champagne. Both of these cardstocks cut on electronic cutting machines so easily. I used my Silhouette Cameo 4. They cut crisp and clean but also emboss well well. Curious Metallics have a sparkling surface and luminescent sheen of machined metal on both sides. There are many color options in this line and you will want to check this cardstock out for yourself. The best part is that CutCardStock sells this line in smaller quantities at reasonable prices so you can afford to indulge in luxury cardstock without even coming close to breaking the bank. Yes, please!

Let's look at some of the pieces in this pattern. Below are one of the two diagonal pieces needed for card. There are are also four small panels that are just right to emboss and glue to the diagonal pieces.

Two of the panels - One before and one after embossing

The diagonal pieces are folded accordion style and the embossed panels are places on the top sections. Below you can see what they look like after folding but before the final two embossed panels are glued in place.

The next step is to combine the two folded diagonals together to form the cascade feature of this card style. The slits in the diagonal pieces allow you to marry the two pieces together as shown below.

I cut out the layered daisies, leaves and the sentiment block in additional Cryogen White and in Champagne. After layering all the images together, they are attached to the card front. The middle flower at the top and the sentiment block are attached with foam tape. The other flowers are glued directly to the card.

To decorate this card, slits are cut into the top to allow a 5/8" ribbon to be threaded through from the back to the front on each side. I chose a white ribbon with gold polka dots. When the ribbon gets to the front you can arrange it to frame the sentiment block. I used glue dots to keep the ribbon in place and trimmed the ribbon ends into flags.

I stamped the sentiment and applied gold embossing powder. Single pearls and gold glitter enamel dots were added to finish this card.

It can be hard to remember to use all the tools we may have in our arsenal sometimes. I hope this card reminds those of you with cutters to use them for special projects like this one. Curious Metallic cardstocks will not disappoint anyone using their electronic machines. Have a very creative day!

Happy Creating!
